Origin Story
I wrote this series to give all children daily access to hugs and positive affirmations. Combining the comfort of hugs with the encouragement of affirmations unlocks a power that transcends what each could bring alone. The feeling of a true and genuine hug can be transformational.
One day, while waiting at the doctor’s office, I met a young girl. We began to chat, and I brought a yo-yo out of my bag. She was a pro with that yo-yo!
She told me she had lost hers, so I offered her mine to replace it.
She was so overcome with emotion that she ran up and gave me the biggest bear hug I have ever received.
My heart exploded with joy as she embraced me. In that moment, I could feel her happiness pass through her hug and straight into my heart.
I gladly received that gift and have remembered and cherished the moment ever since.
Now I always keep a yo-yo in my purse . . . just in case lightning strikes twice!
